As part of our commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and promoting collaborative research, the UZ-CTRC extends its support to other researchers and institutions through the following initiatives
- Development of recruitment and retention plans: With the vast knowledge acquired over the last 30 years our organization has perfected the skill of drafting recruitment and retention plans. We draft targeted recruitment strategies to identify and engage eligible participants for clinical trials and research studies efficiently and effectively. We actively implement retention strategies to support participant engagement and study completion through ongoing communication, logistical support, and participant feedback mechanisms to address challenges and facilitate smooth participation in research.
- Centralized regulatory facility: The UZ-CTRC provides expertise in centralized regulatory applications for clinical trials and research studies through our Central Regulatory Office (CRO). Our services encompass the comprehensive management of regulatory processes, ensuring compliance with institutional, national, and international regulatory requirements. The CRO serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory and ethics bodies, facilitating communication, and responding to queries. We have an in-house translation department that is well-versed in vernacular medical language. Our team of expert translators possesses a deep understanding of local medical terminology, cultural nuances, and linguistic variations specific to different regions and communities within Zimbabwe.
- Grants Management: The UZ-CTRC specializes in pre- and post-award comprehensive grants management, offering tailored support to researchers, institutions, and organizations engaged in advancing public health and clinical research. Our grants management services encompass a wide range of activities aimed at facilitating the acquisition, administration, and compliance of grant funding. We provide capacity building initiatives and training programs to enhance the grant management skills of researchers and institutional staff, empowering them to navigate the complexities of grant administration effectively.
- Centralized Administrative Services: Our organization offers centralized administrative services to support researchers and institutions in optimizing operational efficiency. Our administrative services encompass a diverse range of crucial functions and support mechanisms including Project Management, Human Resources Support, Financial Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Information Technology (IT) support services and Facilities Management
- Quality Management Systems: The UZ-CTRC can establish and maintain robust quality management systems including comprehensive Clinical Quality Management Plans. Our plans include quality assurance and control, and the development of Standard Operating Procedures. We offer Training and Support to researchers and organizations to ensure that they maintain a high standard of quality and excellence in their operations.
