What We Do
UZ-CTRC is managed by a sophisticated and centralized administrative unit which is pivotal in supporting the execution of complex clinical trials across multiple sites in Harare and Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. With over 30 years of collective expertise in both pre-award and post-award support, the administrative unit has streamlined operations in financial and grants management, procurement support, recruitment and selection, logistical support, information systems support, and compliance. This streamlined approach not only enhances transparency and cost-efficiency but also plays a crucial role in upholding high-performance standards, significantly contributing to the success of the CTU’s research initiatives across networks such as IMPAACT, MTN, HPTN, HVTN, ACTG while also supporting initiatives under the Ministry of Health and Child Care through CDC-funded programs. Headed by the Research Admin Director, the unit comprises specialized departments in Finance, Grants, Human Resources, Logistics (Transport, Facilities & Security), Procurement, Information, Communication Technology, and Compliance, ensuring seamless operations and robust support for the CTU’s endeavours.
